Dear NE CCBD members,
I have developed this edublog as a means of creating a presence on the web for our organization. Our parent organization, The Council for Children with Behavior Disorders (CCBD) can be found at http://www.ccbd.net. At this website you can find a vast array of information about CCBD, current information on advocacy issues relating to IDEIA 2004, conference information as well as our great journals, Behavioral Disorders and Beyond Behavior. I welcome you all to visit it if you have not done so.

I will also like to update you on last year’s activities. I sent out a mass email regarding my appointment as the new president of NECCBD asking for volunteers for our board. We have had a great response from about 10 individuals interested in participating. We held our first meeting last spring and we have identified an event we would like to launch this upcoming school year. We have a couple of board members who would like to invite a speaker to speak about behavior issues in our schools. You will be receiving further information in the next few weeks. We are also exploring the possibility of collaborating on another event with MACEC and setting up volunteer opportunities as the 2008 Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Conference and Expo approaches.
